Chat Buoy is an open-source Chrome extension that adds a smart navigation sidebar to AI chat platforms. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data Chat Buoy does — and does not — collect.

Data Collection

Chat Buoy does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

• No user accounts or login required.
• No analytics, tracking, or telemetry.
• No cookies or local storage for tracking purposes.
• No data is sent to any external server.

How It Works

Chat Buoy operates entirely within your browser. It reads the visible DOM structure of supported AI chat pages (such as ChatGPT) to generate a table-of-contents sidebar. All processing happens locally in your browser — no chat content ever leaves your device.

Permissions

Chat Buoy requests the minimum permissions necessary to function:

• Host permissions — to inject the navigation sidebar on supported AI chat pages only.

These permissions are used solely to render the sidebar UI. No data is read beyond what is needed to build the table of contents.

Third-Party Services

Chat Buoy does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or analytics platforms. The extension is fully self-contained.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Since Chat Buoy does not collect any data, we do not anticipate significant changes.
